Featherly

Weight tracker app for iPhone & Android

Featherly, the weight tracker app that sees through the noise.

Your scale lies to you. Daily. Featherly turns noisy weigh-ins into one calm trend line, so you track your weight by where it is really going, not by this morning's number.

Free download. No account. Your weight stays on your phone.

Why Featherly

A weight tracker built around the trend, not the number.

Most weight tracking apps draw a jagged line through every weigh-in and leave you to guess. Featherly does the maths for you and keeps the rest out of the way.

Under the hood

How Featherly's weight trend works

Your weight swings from day to day with water, salt, sleep and timing, and most of those swings mean nothing. Featherly smooths them with an exponentially weighted moving average: each new weigh-in moves the trend only part of the way towards it, recent days count the most, and older days gradually fade out over a window of about 10 days.

The result is a weight trend that shows where you are really heading, without overreacting to a single morning on the scale.

  1. Recent days weigh moreToday counts more than last week, so the trend keeps up with real change.
  2. Spikes barely move itA salty dinner shows up as a dot, not as a jump in your trend.
  3. About 10 days of memoryEnough to see the direction within a couple of weeks.

The trend, the goal date forecast and BMI are statistical estimates for information only, and they can be wrong. Featherly is not a medical device and does not give medical advice: talk to a healthcare professional for any health decision.

Made for daily weigh-ins

Weight tracking for losing, maintaining or gaining.

Whatever direction you want the line to go, the daily number is the wrong thing to watch. The trend is the right one.

Is Featherly free?

Yes. Featherly is free to download on the App Store and Google Play. Featherly Plus is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly, with a free trial when one is offered. The features it unlocks, its price in your country and the trial length are all shown in the app before you confirm.

Featherly's free features stay available without a subscription.

Do I need an account to track my weight with Featherly?

No. Featherly is a weight tracker with no account, no sign-up and no cloud sync. You open the app and log your first weigh-in. Everything is stored on your phone.

Is my weight data private?

Yes. Featherly has no account and no cloud sync: your weigh-ins, notes, goal and settings stay on your phone, and your weight is never sent to us. We have no server that receives it.

To improve the app we collect pseudonymous usage statistics and crash reports, which never include your weight, notes or health data. Details in the Privacy Policy.

Does Featherly work with Apple Health, Health Connect or Samsung Health?

Yes, if you allow it. On iPhone, Featherly reads your weight history from Apple Health and writes new weigh-ins back to it. On Android, it does the same with Health Connect.

Samsung Health works through Health Connect: turn on Samsung Health's sync with Health Connect and your weights flow both ways. Featherly only accesses body weight, no other health data.

Why does my weight go up and down every day?

Because the number on the scale is mostly water. Salt, carbs, sleep, a late dinner or the time of day can shift it by a kilo (a couple of pounds) overnight, without any change in body fat.

That is why Featherly tracks a trend instead of reacting to each weigh-in: an exponentially weighted moving average over roughly ten days smooths the daily noise and shows where your weight is really heading.

How often should I weigh myself?

Featherly works best with a daily weigh-in in similar conditions, for example every morning after the bathroom and before breakfast. More data points mean a steadier trend.

Missing a day is fine: the trend simply picks up from your next weigh-in. You never have to back-fill anything.

Can I set a goal weight?

Yes. Set a goal weight and Featherly estimates the date you would reach it at the pace of your current trend. If you enter your height, it also shows your BMI.

The forecast and BMI are statistical estimates for information only. Featherly is not a medical device and does not give medical advice.

Does Featherly have a home-screen widget?

Yes. Featherly widgets show your latest weight and trend right on your home screen, read from the same on-device storage as the app, so you can check your progress without opening it.

How do I move my weight history to a new phone?

Turn on Apple Health or Health Connect in Featherly (Settings → Connected apps): your weigh-ins are written there. On the new phone, install Featherly, connect again and it imports your history. See Help & support.

How do I cancel Featherly Plus?

Plus renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancelling during the free trial means you are not charged. Uninstalling the app does not cancel the subscription.
